Hi! As an example of the kind of helpful postings I am hoping we can all be contributing, here is a link to a really cool video from one of my favorite places, SpringHill Camps.
SpringHill has mastered the concept and actual practice of inclusion, where children with disabilities participate fully with their non-disabled peers in traditional summer camp activities. Each can be as active as they would like, and SpringHill supplies the staff and equipment to make it all work beautifully together.

You can follow the link in my "Links/Resources" section to their website, but here is a slightly more direct link to the video. After you click, look for the Video section and the title is "Special Needs:Special Forces" Enjoy!

This is an amazing web site. I really appreciate the Spring Hill video. It reminds of Isaiah 35 and the return to Zion, as promised by our Lord.
"And a highway shall be there,
and it shall be called the Holy Way; . . .
the redemmed shall walk there.
And the ransomed of the Lord shall return,
and come to Zion with singing;
verlasting joy shall be upon thier heads;
they shall obtain joy and gladness,
and sorrow and sighing shall flee away."
I have felt the need to head up a ministry for special need families. Iam stepping out in faith here at the new church we are attending. FCF is 100% behind this ministry I cannot believe how open and ready they are.. they have been praying for someone to lead a ministry like this.. God is amazing. They look at this not as disabilties but possibilites for families to feel welcomed, loved and a part of the family here. I have so many questions and getting the handbook is a start. Thank you for sharing Jesus this way...
